Gary T. Olsen, Founding President and CEO

Mr. Olsen is an executive who has led the design and commercialization of complex interdisciplinary products spanning startup and Fortune 100 environments at Clinical Micro Sensors, Motorola, and Osmetech. With a career that has grown out of research and development for FDA-­regulated in vitro diagnostic systems, Mr. Olsen has been responsible for multi-­million dollar budgets leading to the launch of award-­winning products that earned annual revenues in excess of $20 million in 2012. He is an inventor on patents covering such diverse fields as signal processing, microfluidics, and DNA hybridization arrays and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology and the University of California at Berkeley.

Parke A. Rublee, PhD, Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer

Dr. Rublee is a Professor of Biology with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro whose research uses molecular tools to address ecological questions in aquatic microbial ecology. An inventor of the company’s founding technologies, Dr. Rublee earned his PhD at North Carolina State University and has held postdoctoral research positions at the University of Miami and the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. His election as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science recognizes his innovative work with microbial ecology in arctic and temperate freshwater ecosystems, as well as in coastal and marine ecosystems along the eastern United States.

Vincent C. Henrich, PhD, Co-Founder and Scientific Advisor

Dr. Henrich is a Professor of Biology and the Director of the Center of Biotechnology, Genomics, and Health Research at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is an inventor of the company’s founding technologies, having contributed his molecular genetics expertise to a longtime collaboration with Dr. Rublee. Dr. Henrich earned his PhD at Ohio State, has held postdoctoral positions at Brandeis and UNC Chapel Hill, and has been a visiting professor and scientist with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. He was presented the Triad Research and Development Excellence Award by the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.

Tracy Jackson, Vice President of Finance and Administration

Ms. Jackson is a finance executive with a breadth of experience from entrepreneurial emerging-­growth firms and large public companies. Her efforts have focused on early-­stage technology, life science, and medical device ventures, although she has also delved into retail, manufacturing, construction, and high-­‐tech industries. Ms. Jackson has been full-­time and part-­time CFO for several firms, including mobile technology company AFK Interactive where she was part of the founding team and integral to strategic planning, operational planning, and the securing of seed funding. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from James Madison University.
